NYFW :: Day 1

Fashion week is like a big dose of therapy for me, it brings me back to life and makes me happy and excited all over again.  I never lose my thrill of fashion, but Fashion Week reminds me what I love about it, and about life and getting dress up again!  I can't explain it and few can understand it {those of us that do give our life to it}.  So here is Day 1, I compiled all pictures from Style.com.  So far they don't have many runway shows but they do have look books for Fall.  Here are a couple of my high fashion favorites so far.

First up is 10 Crosby Derek Lam.  I am blown away by the pictures, while no the 70's vibe is nothing new I love the fresh put together, tailored, slightly preppy way he did it.  These are all looks I will copy, especially the silk dress peaking out of the leather skirt... amazing.

Next is Jenni Kayne.  Again, leather is clearly here to stay.  I also love the neon dress and obvi love a good fall floral print!

Just a sneak peak.... more to come!

Nail Polish Obsessions

Ok, so anyone that knows me knows that I HATE not having my nails painted.  Usually a really dark red color, sometimes I spice it up with dark purple or even lately dark brown! {I know... whoa...}.  My friends this weekend even joked about in college how I would paint my nails right before we left to hit the town {Aggieville being the town}, well things haven't changed!  Because of this obsession with always having my nails painted {not to mention not wanting to pay a lady to do it for me once a week} I have found the BEST nail polish for a busy lady on the run like me.  Now don't get me wrong, sometimes I love sitting down and giving myself a good old fashioned mani/pedi. However, when I don't have time for that I use....... THIS....

Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Fast Dry Nail Color in Cinna-snap.  I really like 2 things about this... it dries REALLY fast {FYI I painted my nails right before starting this post and they are basically dry... and I'm a fast typer.}. Second thing I like about it, IT'S DARK RED!  Most "fast" drying nail colors were obviously made for a 5 year old girl with no patience, aka bright pink, neon green... you get my drift, well I'm a 26 year old girl with no patience.  This is really the only color they make that doesn't fit under 5 year old category.  Complaint number 2: It chips in no less then 24 hours.  But, who cares? It's my in between real nail polish manicure which is usually just a few days anyway!

I mentioned before I am going to Las Vegas for work on Sunday night, I am toying around with the idea of doing something I saw on a CUTE girl working at Kate Spade.  I drilled her the whole time I was checking out on how to do it.  It was a medium purple color on all nails with gold/pinkish glitter only on the pointer and pinky finger {some how she had a very light even glitter coat}.  We shall see if I have the guts to leave with this or if I stash a bottle of Cinna-snap so I can change my mind mid-flight....

Stay tuned!

Golden Globes :: My Favorites

Oh hello friends.  So did you see the Golden Globes on Sunday? I saw the 2nd half of it, which seemed to be enough for me. Good... the silent black and white movie won too many awards, ok I'm intrigued and will watch it some rainy Sunday night on my couch alone. Whatever, I don't watch the Globes to see who wins, I watch it to see who everyone wears.  Oh, and if you didn't see, Sunday night Rue La La replied to one of my tweets!!! Ok, make fun of me, I'm a loser, whatever.... I don't care. {It was about how Jessica Biel's dress gave her a weird saggy 3rd boob... It's always good when you realize you're not the only one who thinks you're a little funny.} Ok so back on track..... here are my favorites from Sunday night....

The ever gorgeous Charlize Theron in Dior. I love that it's elegant but dramatic and who doesn't love pink on the red carpet?  I could of done without the crystal headband.  I think down and wavy would of been more modern.

Heidi Klum in Calvin Klein.  Love the POC {pop of color if you haven't given in to It's a Brad Brad World yet} with the turq.  Also, a reveling back is bringing sexy back... yep... I said it.  I mentioned the word sexy makes me uncomfortable so I have to say it in a dorky, clique way... oops.

The hilarious bombshell Sofia Vergara in Vera Wang. I love this dress! I love the textures at the bottom and it fits her like a glove!! I love how she dresses amazingly for her body without ever looking vulgar. She's a gorgeous, funny, classy lady and she gets the pleasure of working with Eric Stonestreet on a regular basis... love her.

I couldn't find a picture of Reese that did this gown and the way she looked justice. She looked happy and bouncy and vibrant and yes ... that word I get weird about... she looked sexy!! She has more curves than normal and I love that she played it up in this Zac Posen gown.  I also wish my hair looked like that daily. I love this siren choice on her... gorgeous.

This week is Dallas Fashion Week... who's going?

Jason Wu for Target

So I know I was really excited about Missoni for Target a few months ago but I will now admit... I did not buy one thing.  After seeing it in person it wasn't fully worth it to me. Spending $60 on something that is CLEARLY Missoni for Target because everyone knew it and the quality was just so so.  The things I really wanted were the bike and maybe the cream comforter but those were long gone fast {plus the bike was out of my price range living in a city where I would NEVER ride it.}.

Anyway... So far my favorite collaboration with them has been Tucker. A. I LOVE TUCKER!!  LOVE LOVE LOVE IT! {Oh wait... there is no B}. I just took my first gander at the Jason Wu look book and if quality proves me right Tucker will have a run for its money. You can see the whole thing here via Stylelist.com but below are my favorites.  The ones I will run to Target to not only buy {really buy this time.. not run to Target to look at and then turn around empty handed}, I will wear ALL Spring and Summer long.

LAST but NOT least... I AM OBSESSED with this white dress. Don't be surprised if I wear it every day with a different necklace and different pair of wedges.... uuuughghghghgghghghg I want it NOW!!

Neon Sperry's

I am finally coming out of hibernation and ready to kick off one of my New Years resolutions {BLOG MORE!!}.  While getting a post together I ran into these Sperry's... I LOVE!!! They so pretty, preppy, spunky.. amazing. I feel as if I would instantly want to do that little hop that leprechauns do!  So here's a little taste of what I am working on while I slowly get my stuff back together and reintroduce myself to my blog {why hello blog... how are you?}.

Bring it JCrew Sperry's... bring it.
