Wisdom of Children

I owe this post to Papa Meetz.  I was searching through my email for something from my brother who just happens to have the same name as my dad and I stumbled upon this email I never read called "How do you decide who to marry?".  Intrigued as to why I never opened it and why my dad was sending me this I clicked on it.  Since my singleness and everyone else's... well non-singleness has recently been looming on me this seemed completely natural for a post. Plus... it's pretty funny.  I apologize for the incredible randomness of this post but I couldn't help it.

I found this post all over the Internet but couldn't really figure out the original source. If you know let me know so I can give them credit!

1. HOW DO YOU DECIDE WHO TO MARRY? (written by kids)

-You got to find somebody who likes the same stuff. Like, if you like sports, she should like it that you like sports, and she should keep the chips and dip coming.
-- Alan, age 10

-No person really decides before they grow up who they're going to marry. God decides it all way before, and you get to find out later who you're stuck with.
-- Kristen, age 10

This little girl needs to be my future daughter

2. WHAT IS THE RIGHT AGE TO GET MARRIED?

Twenty-three is the best age because you know the person FOREVER by then.
-- Camille, age 10

3. HOW CAN A STRANGER TELL IF TWO PEOPLE ARE MARRIED?
You might have to guess, based on whether they seem to be yelling at the same kids.
-- Derrick, age 8

4. WHAT DO YOU THINK YOUR MUM AND DAD HAVE IN COMMON?
Both don't want any more kids.
-- Lori, age 8

5. WHAT DO MOST PEOPLE DO ON A DATE?
-Dates are for having fun, and people should use them to get to know each other. Even boys have something to say if you listen long enough.
-- Lynn ette, age 8
{so wise beyond her years...}

This little girls fashion sense is wise beyond her years...

-On the first date, they just tell each other lies and that usually gets them interested enough to go for a second date.
-- Martin, age 10

6. WHEN IS IT OKAY TO KISS SOMEONE?

-When they're rich.
-- Pam , age 7

-The law says you have to be eighteen, so I wouldn't want to mess with that.
- - Curt, age 7

So cute.
-The rule goes like this: If you kiss someone, then you should marry them and have kids with them. It's the right thing to do.
- - Howard, age 8
{whoops... broke that rule}

7. IS IT BETTER TO BE SINGLE OR MARRIED?

It's better for girls to be single but not for boys. Boys need someone to clean up after them.
-- Anita, age 9

8. HOW WOULD THE WORLD BE DIFFERENT IF PEOPLE DIDN'T GET MARRIED?

There sure would be a lot of kids to explain, wouldn't there?
-- Kelvin, age 8
{Amazing...}

And the #1 Favorite is.......

9. HOW WOULD YOU MAKE A MARRIAGE WORK?

Tell your wife that she looks pretty, even if she looks like a dump truck.
-- Ricky, age 10
{This little boy is wise beyond his years... every male on the planet should take note!}

Dress for Who? :: YOURSELF

Ok ok ok... you can already tell this is going to be yet another corny post {hey, I am going through a changing/transition stage. Let me}.  But ALAS this perfect quote was put in front of my face and it made me think "OMG OMG OMG I ALWAYS SAY THAT!!!".  So I will keep it short and sweet because you've all heard me talk about this before and no one wants to hear me rant on and on about it but this quote couldn't be more perfect.

Bam.  Who knows it better than Betsy Johnson?  I have been saying this for years and have some friends who completely agree and have some friends who I think pretend to agree but it's clear they do not {did I just lose some friends?}. Once I started TRULY following this was when I got dressed much easier, and quite frankly just became flat out happier.  I know it sounds ridiculous but I don't give a shit {excuse my french...} if you like my outfit or not... I LOVE it, which in turn makes me ultra confident, which in turn makes me more attractive to people.

So go out wearing your light pink leather shorts {just bought some...}, open toe booties {went on a date once in them and the first thing the boy said to me was "interesting shoes..." "They are my favorite so I am going to pretend you didn't say that in that tone of voice" is what I said back. One date was all it took... to never go on another}, long sleeve maxi dresses, brogues, high waist flares, and anything else people deem to be "unflattering". {did this just turn into a Miller Light commercial?}

And with that I am going to go get dressed for drinks... guess who might wear a maxi dress with a fur vest in 100 degree heat tonight? You guessed it....

Happiness in Quotes

So, I've been MIA. I know, sorry.  Life kind of got in the way and it seemed that living it was more important at the time then sitting down to blog.  Plus I haven't had 30 minutes alone besides sleeping before this Monday since I don't even know when... busy isn't always bad.  It distracts you from the things you don't want to think about and makes you happy for the things you do have.  I will be back in full force soon but until then these are some quotes that fit exactly how I feel at the moment or just made me laugh out loud.  Enjoy, and I hope at least one does the same for you on this incredibly stormy Wednesday morning.

Or the characters (yes... they are characters...) on the Bachelorette like we know them.

Sometimes you have to live like Blair, with that much attitude and drive you can literally do anything.

 I also like to live by "Don't get dressed for a man, get dressed for yourself, your confidence is much sexier then a tight short skirt." Yes you can quote me on that...
 Trust me on this one too... once you stop living your life by that picture you drew 5 - 10 years ago your life gets better then what you ever could have imagined.

This one pertains to most of my girl friends.  Also, I have been getting made fun of a lot lately for walking a mile and then doing yoga as my only form of "real" exercise/being outdoorsy.

 Oh come on... don't judge me.  We have all had those moments when we realize we are being completely absurd and have probably said these exact words.

First thing I do when I walk in the door... again don't act like you don't too.

Inspiration :: Color Combinations

I have been obsessed with combining lots of different colors in outfits and home decor lately.  The more the merrier... bring it on.

Here's a little bit of my day to day inspiration for Spring and just what generally is making me happy lately.

Dresses on top can be found here at Tibi.  The adorable girl in pink laughing is obviously the genius behind Atlantic-Pacific.  And the incredible picture of the painting was originally photographed for Barrie Benson here.

These are going to be the colors of my dreams tonight! (as if they weren't every night... seriously this is what my dreams look like. Aren't you a teeny bit jealous?)
